JAMESTOWN — Jamestown strip club for a wanted felon from Modesto didn't find him, but did make three other arrests.
According to the Sheriff's Department, Modesto police Friday afternoon contacted deputies about information that a wanted felon "known to carry firearms and body armor" was in a room at Rosalinda Gentleman's Club on Highway 108. The felon's name was not released.
Deputies set up surveillance until the SWAT team could surround the club. Authorities called over the loudspeaker for the suspect to surrender, but nobody came out of the club. Deputies deployed tear gas before sending in a robot with a camera. After they established that the suspect wasn't in the business, deputies went into the room.
Though they didn't find the original suspect, deputies found and arrested three others: Tanisha Flaherty, 29 of Modesto; Stephen Frederick, 37, of Oakdale; and Nicolet Schmidt, 28. Flaherty was believed to be with the original suspect and was a parolee at large. Frederick was arrested for a parole violation, and Schmidt faces a charge of carrying a concealed weapon, authorities said.
