Stanislaus County Supervisor Vito Chiesa is expected to be sworn in as chairman of the Board of Supervisors in a ceremony before Tuesday's meeting. The ceremony is set for 8:30 a.m.; the regular meeting will follow at 9. Supervisors are traditionally on a rotation to serve for a year as chairman, with the approval of the full board. Supervisor Jim DeMartini is in line to serve as vice chairman this year.

The board meets in the basement chamber of Tenth Street Place, 1010 10th St., in Modesto.

The following items will be considered:

• An audit report on purchasing cards by the auditor-controller's office

• An annual progress report on the Stanislaus County employee mentor program

• An agreement with the California Highway Patrol for traffic control services during improvements to the Highway 99 and Kiernan Avenue interchange

• A staff request to reschedule a hearing on changes to hardship eligibility for the indigent adult health program
