HUGHSON — The Hughson City Council on Monday will hold a special meeting to discuss how to fill a vacancy that will be left next month by the city's outgoing city manager.
Bryan Whitemyer announced last month that he will be leaving his job as city manager of Hughson for the same position in Oakdale starting Feb. 4. He will earn $160,500.
Hughson Mayor Matt Beekman would not say whether the council has anyone in particular in mind to fill the position, but that the council will discuss using a recruiting firm.
Beekman said it normally takes a city four to six months to find a city manager, so the council will likely opt to hire an interim city manager first.
The special meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the council chamber, 7018 Pine St., Hughson.
