3,200 kids helped with tree

Once again we at Soroptimist International of Modesto and Modesto North along with our partners, Sunny 102 Radio and Vintage Faire Mall, thank all who participated in the Soroptimist Community Christmas Tree. In our 27th year, we were able to supply clothes and toys to nearly 3,200 local children.

For many, these are the only gifts they receive at Christmas. Thank you to all of you who chose a name from the tree and to those who gave donations that made it possible to provide gifts for the children whose names were not selected or whose gifts were not returned.

Due to the united efforts of individuals, organizations and merchants, all the children were given a little magic on Christmas morning. This event not only supplies these youth with presents, but it also brings hope to many of their families as well.

We especially want to express our sincere gratitude to the several hundred volunteers who staffed the tree and wrap room, as well as as those participating agencies and schools that make this project happen.
