Sonora woman ID'd as fatal Oakdale crash victim

— A Sonora woman who died Thursday morning in a head-on collision in Oakdale was identified Friday as Joy Mata.

The 24-year-old was driving north on Orange Blossom Road when her Honda veered into the southbound lanes of the road, where she collided with a Toyota driven by a 40-year-old man from Riverbank, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Riverbank man suffered major injuries and Mata died from her injuries.

She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the CHP.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
