TURLOCK -- Turlock police this week arrested a 19-year-old man after an officer spotted a gun in his waistband, authorities said.
According to police reports, an officer stopped Joseph Lopez and a male juvenile companion in the 1000 block of North Olive Avenue at 9:52 p.m. Wednesday.
The teenager ran away; officers later found him nearby.
Lopez stayed at the scene and started acting suspiciously, police said. The officer noticed the handle of a handgun sticking out of Lopez's waistband.
During a search, the officer also found a sawed-off shotgun, authorities said.
Police arrested Lopez on felony gun charges.
The teen, who reportedly did not cooperate with officers, was arrested on a charge of violating probation.
