-- With a new year often comes a dresser filled with brand-new clothes and a large, coma-inducing dinner shared with friends and family.

However, it also entails a whole new set of experiences and, at least for some of us, a lengthy list of resolutions. Though we're three days into the new year already, if you haven't made any resolutions, it's certainly not too late to do so.

Rather than setting wild and seemingly impossible goals — such as shedding 22 pounds in a week or even ... gulp ... running a marathon in each of the 50 states before reaching the age of 18 — the following Beyer High students have come up with ambitious yet realistic resolutions. Perhaps they will inspire you to set your sights high for 2013.

Oh, and want a quick tip to get a head start on obtaining your goals? It definitely helps to write them down.

MIRIAM DE LA RIVA, SENIOR: "Enjoy the small things in life. With all the horrible things happening in the world, I want to appreciate the little things, like being able to come home to my family, making hot chocolate with marshmallows and getting a warm feeling inside when taking the first sip; being able to watch my favorite characters on TV; or just reading a good book."

CHRISTINA MOSCATO, JUNIOR: "I want to win an award in an art show for one of my paintings. I'm optimistic about this upcoming year, and I know it will be filled with success and happiness."

TIFFANY HARI, SENIOR: "Just juggling my time better."

What are your resolutions for 2013?

Share them at teens@modbee.com and we'll share them in Buzzz.
