STANISLAUS COUNTY — Law enforcement agencies in Stanislaus County reported at least 115 arrests of people suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs from Dec. 14 through Saturday.
The arrests were part of a holiday season crackdown that will continue with the New Year's Eve celebrations taking place tonight. The total is tentative because some agencies have not reported.
Officers are using checkpoints, roving patrols and other means to look for offenders.
Last year, the 12 agencies reported 84 arrests over the same period. They urge the public to call 911 if they see someone driving under the influence.
