Success Capital, the Small Business Administration loan servicing agency, honored Peter Brown of Oak Valley Bank as its most active loan officer and Modesto Commerce Bank as its most active lending partner in 2012. The awards were presented at an annual luncheon. John Gauthier, owner of 28 Little Caesar's pizza restaurants, delivered the keynote address, telling how he worked his way up from pizza maker to owner.

Riverbank Cares, an alliance of faith-based organizations, service clubs, businesses, schools and residents, delivered food to 300 needy families over the holidays. Recipients included seniors and shut-ins. Residents donated turkeys, canned goods and cash, while schools and businesses served as collection points.
Members of the Oakdale Saddle Club continued the tradition of holding their annual Christmas party, at which they collected $1,000 in cash and new toys that went to the Children's Crisis Center of Oakdale.
Pacific Gas & Electric Co. contributed $10,000 to the new Boys & Girls Club of Stanislaus County, joining the club's Founders Circle. Boys & Girls Club board Chairman Dave Gianelli said the organization plans to begin providing services to children and youth in Modesto in 2013.
