-- Two people suffered injuries Friday morning after the vehicles they were driving collided head-on in north Modesto.

At about 6:55 a.m., a vehicle heading east on Ladd Road near American Avenue came to a stop to turn left into a private driveway.

A woman driving a Nissan Pathfinder who was approaching the vehicle didn’t notice it was stopped until the last second and swerved into the westbound lane, according to Officer J.B. Peregoy of the California Highway Patrol.

The Pathfinder slammed into a Honda sedan that was traveling west on Ladd.

Both drivers, the only occupants in the vehicles, were taken to Doctors Medical Center with undisclosed injuries, according to Battalion Chief Randy Anderson of the Modesto Regional Fire Authority.

Peregoy said he didn’t know the speed of the vehicles when they collided.

Traffic was diverted off Ladd, but was later open to traffic.
