Enforcement aimed at pulling drunken drivers off the road this holiday season continues this weekend with saturation patrols in Stanislaus County.

The two-week enforcement, which ends Monday, is part of the Avoid the 12 campaign, which consists of all 12 law enforcement agencies in the county.

There will be roving saturation patrols tonight and Saturday night in Modesto and Ceres; Sunday night in Modesto, Ceres and Turlock; and Monday night in Modesto.

The patrols are carried out by officers assigned solely to look for drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The special enforcement is funded by a grant from the state Office of Traffic Safety.
