MODESTO -- Police are asking for the public's help to find a woman who robbed a Modesto bank Thursday afternoon.
The woman entered the Wells Fargo Bank at 3456 McHenry Ave. about 2 p.m., said Lt. Rick Armendariz.
She handed a teller a note demanding money, and though she claimed to have a gun, none was seen. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash from the teller and was last seen leaving the bank on foot. The bank is at the corner of Sylvan Avenue and McHenry.
The suspect is described as black, between 30 and 40 years old, heavy-set, with a distinguishable gap between her two front teeth, Armendariz said.
She was wearing a tan beanie cap, light brown hooded sweat shirt and blue pants.
