"Please don't dominate the rap, Jack, if you got nothin' new to say." (San Francisco's Grateful Dead)
These mindless opinions (rants) that clutter up the Opinions page, while at first amusing, are now monotonous. When I read the letter "Ask them again later" (Dec. 8), my reaction was "Says who? Says you?"
In this particular gem the writer paints an apocryphally bleak picture of the horrible fate we're all in store for without offering any evidence.
If you believe this kind of tripe, I challenge any of you to defend the following lies: "Planned Parenthood is primarily in business to provide abortions" (rantmeister Bill O'Reilly; the real figure is 3 percent); "It has not been proven that nicotine is addictive; the same with cigarettes causing emphysema" (comedian and cigar sucker Rush Limbaugh); "Fair and balanced" (Roger Ailes, minister of Republican propaganda).
Guess what? You guys lost. Man up and get over it, or pick up your marbles and join the Whigs.
