MPD - On Wednesday, February 29th, at about 12:50 a.m., Modesto Police Officers responded to a report of a victim shot inside a residence in the 900 block of Tuolumne Boulevard, in west Modesto. When officers arrived, they located a male victim in his twenties suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. Through their investigation, Modesto Police Homicide Detectives have identified Jose Abraham Maldonado-Hernandez, a 21-year-old Mexican National, as the person responsible in the shooting. Maldonado-Hernandez also goes by the name of Abraham Hernandez.
• THE CASE: Maldonado-Hernandez is wanted by Modesto police on suspicion of murder in the Feb. 29 shooting death of Abel Ceballos, 23, of Modesto inside a home in the 900 block of Tuolumne Boulevard in west Modesto.
• NOTES: Police say Maldonado-Hernandez also is known as Abraham Hernandez.
