Your article "Are government pensions inviolable?" left me confused. A government employee is vested in his pension, yet people who have paid into Social Security all their working lives receive an entitlement.
Aren't people vested in their Social Security? Don't they also have a contract with the government? It just seems odd that if you are a government employee you deserve your pension, but people on Social Security, per some in the government, get charity.
