MODESTO -- Modesto police made one arrest after an apparent gunshot victim was driven by a private vehicle to Doctors Medical Center early Saturday.
Jeffrey Samora, 22, was arrested after officers found he had a gun with the serial number removed, Lt. Jolene Gonzales said. About 1 a.m., an officer on burglary patrol saw a vehicle speeding through the parking lot at Doctors. The driver stopped the car and helped the passenger with a gunshot wound to the abdomen go into the hospital.
The injury was not life-threatening, police said. Samora, who was in the back seat, jumped into the front seat to try to take off, but was detained by the officer, Gonzales said.
