TID officials approve new budget

Turlock Irrigation District leaders unanimously approved a $397 million budget Tuesday. That's a 21 percent slide in two years because the district has finished major projects. Electricity customers are in the middle of a three-step fee increase that will raise rates 12 percent. Also, the TID will rely on $7.4 million from a rate stabilization fund to balance its 2013 budget.
