Man arrested on drug charges in Ripon

Bee Staff ReportsDecember 20, 2012

— A man was arrested on drug charges late Wednesday night after a Ripon police officer found him slumped over the wheel of his car.

Officer Stephen Meece was on a routine holiday burglary patrol in the 400 block of Helen Drive at 11:58 p.m. when he spotted Gabriel Campa in a parked Ford Escort. Campa, 38, is on probation, which means Meece could search his car. The officer found a glass smoking pipe and methamphetamine.

Campa was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on suspicion of possession of controlled substance paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
