Modesto's Michael "Mayday" McDonald, one of the rising bantamweight stars of the UFC, gets his first title shot on Feb. 16 against interim champion Renan Barao of Brazil. The fight will take place at Wembley Arena in London. McDonald, 21 (19-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC), hasn't fought since April when he knocked out former champ Miguel Torres. Since the quick knockout, however, McDonald underwent surgery to repair ligaments in his hand. Barao (29-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC) won the interim title last July with a unanimous decision over Urijah Faber.
