Manteca Kindred Arts presents Golden Bough, a Modesto Celtic trio. Titled "Christmas in a Celtic Land," the concert will feature holiday favorites and other folk music from Scotland, Ireland, Wales and beyond. The performers will use a mix of acoustic instruments including Celtic harp, violin, mandolin, accordion, penny whistle and more. The group has released more than 30 albums since its founding in 1980.

Backstage Academy of Dance Company presents Tchaikovsky's holiday ballet "The Nutcracker." The show centers on Clara, a young girl who receives a gift of a magical nutcracker doll. The doll transforms into a handsome prince who carries her off to the Land of Sweets. The cast features 70 dancers age 5-40. Megan Wade, who is in her late teens, returns in the starring role of Clara.

Singer-songwriter Francesca Bavaro, the 2011 winner of the Valley's Got Talent contest at the Gallo Center for the Arts, performs at Tresetti's World Caffe in downtown Modesto.
