Question of the Week: What are your plans for winter break?
Taylor Menezes, Junior, Central Catholic High School
My plans for Christmas vacation are to get some much-needed relaxation, catch up on some reading and spend time with my family.
Dominique Germann, Senior, Central Valley High School
From now through Christmas, I hope to relax and spend time with family, but also try to stay on top of my winter assignments. Toward the end of break, I have a 4-H state ambassador winter retreat in Tahoe, which will be fun yet productive.
Anna Fogarty, Junior, Central Catholic High School
My main goals for winter break are to read, relax and catch up on some much-needed sleep.
Emily Hoeksema, Senior, Ripon Christian high School
I believe relaxation is one of my highest priorities over winter break. I've been so busy as of late that break is going to be a welcome opportunity to catch my breath, read some good books, drink lots of hot chocolate and enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
Natalia Lima, Senior, Turlock High School
I personally plan on going into hibernation over this Christmas break. Oh wait, college applications are due in the beginning of January. It's sleep versus college. While sleep is sounding pretty good at this point, it's a precious commodity that I will not be indulging in this Christmas break.
Maggie White, Senior, Valley Charter High School
So far, I've eaten way too many chocolate croissants and turned lobster-red on my family vacation in Mexico. Next, I'll be spending Christmas with both of my parents' families, and I just might have enough time to catch up on all of the TV shows I recorded while I was studying for finals. And sleeping is, of course, No. 1 on my to-do list.
Carolyn Stevens, Junior, Whitmore Charter High School
Ah, winter break. That wonderful yet too short time for lying around and being unproductive. I will actually be finishing up my online precalculus course over the break, as well as performing in a few concerts. I also have a pretty long reading list I want to get through, which might not happen as I am currently working my way through the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. In any case, I look forward to having a bit of time with no classes to worry about.
