OAKDALE -- A 32-year-old man suffered serious head injuries after crashing on Highway 108-120 near north Stearns Road in Oakdale on Monday night, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The driver was westbound on the highway, about a mile east of Stearns, about 8 p.m. when he swerved to avoid a dog, witnesses told the CHP. He went down the embankment and struck trees, which spun his vehicle around, said CHP officer Philip Deprater.
An ambulance arrived and transported the man to the Oakdale Rodeo Grounds, where an air ambulance then transported him to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
