AARP SAFE DRIVER COURSE

Info: Doctors Medical Center and AARP present the Safe Driver Program, a two-day course designed to point out the natural physical changes that drivers may go through as they age and ways to compensate for these changes. Participants will watch a video, receive a workbook, participate in group discussion, and learn about current driving laws. Cost is $12 for AARP members, $14 for nonmembers. CHARITY BASKETBALL GAME
When: Today, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Big Valley Christian High School, 1020 Pelandale Ave., Modesto
Info: Big Valley coaches and players, Heald College employees and others will play the inaugural Children's Crisis Center Charity Basketball Game tonight. The goal is to raise $1,000 for the center. Admission is $5 adults, $1 children. The event also will include raffle prizes of gas cards, gift cards and food baskets. The Crossfire Church band will provide entertainment. At a snack bar, hot dogs, chips, soda, water and candy will be sold. It is the mission of the Children's Crisis Center of Stanislaus County to provide child-abuse prevention, intervention and shelter services to the abused, neglected and high-risk children.
