Coroner investigates Oakdale infant's death

Coroner's officials were investigating a child's death after the infant was found not breathing Tuesday evening at an Oakdale home.

About 5:40 p.m., medics responded to the home on Obsidian Drive, a few blocks north of West F Street.

Oakdale police said the infant was taken to Oak Valley Hospital, where the child was pronounced dead. Police were sent to investigate to the death because the child was alone before being found not breathing.

The investigating officers did not find any signs of foul play.

Police said the Stanislaus County coroner's office will do its own investigation into the child's death.
