-- A Jamestown man was arrested on suspicion of physically abusing his infant daughter, who is clinging to life at an Oakland hospital, the Union Democrat of Sonora reported Tuesday.

Kevin Michael Boehmer, 26, was arrested Sunday at Sonora Regional Medical Center, where he'd taken the girl because she was having difficulty breathing.

Staff noticed old bruises and injuries on the child's neck and chest and reported them to the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department, the newspaper reported.

The 3-month-old was airlifted to Children's Hospital and Research Center Oakland. She's not expected to survive, the newspaper reported.
