-- Sylvan Union School District board members are hoping to hear from the community as they begin selecting a new district superintendent.

Their query: What personal and professional qualities for an incoming superintendent will be a match for the district?

Individual and small group appointments will be held in the district office, 605 Sylvan Ave., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today. To arrange an appointment, call Naomie Rodrigues at (209) 574-5000, ext. 202.

An open forum will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Stockard Coffee Elementary School, 3900 Northview Drive. An online survey is available on the district's website, www.sylvan.k12.ca.us.

Sally Frazier and Phil Quon of Leadership Associates will advise the board in the selection process and will be in the district Wednesday. Constituents can give input by phone at (760) 771-4277, fax at (760) 771-4277, or by e-mail at lhunt@leadershipassociates.org.
