Cloudy, dry weekend ahead for Modesto

MODESTO -- If you're looking to get some holiday shopping done, pick up a tree or take a drive and look at Christmas lights, this is going to be a good weekend to do it.

Forecasters are calling for cloudy but dry conditions over the next several days, in contrast to last weekend's soggy storms. The only weather hazard in the Northern San Joaquin Valley will be our tule fog, which will settle in during the night and morning hours.

Highs will be in the 50s with lows in the 40s. The outlook is much the same for next week. But a look at the extended forecast shows that rain could be returning ... next weekend.
