MODESTO -- Fire crews Tuesday morning responded to a blaze that consumed a detached garage at a home in south Modesto, seen at right.
Modesto Regional Fire Engineer Tom Cabrera said five engines, a battalion chief and investigators responded to the call, which originally came in for Hatch and Crows Landing roads. The home is just to the east of the intersection. Nobody was injured.
According to the home's resident, nobody lived in the garage. It did have electricity, Cabrera said, and Turlock Irrigation District employees responded to secure the site.
