-- Just as the Northern San Joaquin Valley has started to dry out after a series of rainstorms, another one approaches.

The National Weather Service says a system will spread across Northern California today and Wednesday, though again most of the big stuff will be north of us. And the rain and wind will be far less intense than a few days ago.

Locally, forecasters call for overcast conditions, followed by a chance of rain this afternoon and a high temperature near 64. The rain will spread south this evening, with rain showers likely Wednesday.

As the weekend approaches, the weather will be drier but colder, with forecasters predicting partly cloudy conditions and highs in the upper 50s.
