Six-year sentence appropriate for teen who tried to kill baby

Regarding "Six-year sentence a tragedy" (Nov. 25, Letters), about the young woman who tried to poison her baby: If she didn't want a baby, she should have had an abortion, or after having the baby, she could have left it at a hospital and not tried to kill it.

There are people who would gladly take a baby, no matter if it was a product of a rape. I think the mother got just what she deserved.
