The Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors, meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, will again discuss whether to pursue an opportunity to be one of three locations in California for a state health exchange call center.
The application does not guarantee the county will get the contract, which is scheduled to be awarded next month. Staff recommended the county pursue the possibility because of the potential for 250 full-time jobs available starting next spring and summer paid entirely by state and federal dollars. Supervisor Jim DeMartini cast the lone vote against the proposal earlier because of his opposition to the president's Affordable Care Act. Basement, Tenth Street Place, 1010 10th St.
The Modesto Planning Commission meets at 6 tonight. Basement, Tenth Street Place.
