MODESTO -- Heavy wind and rain are expected to remain in the Modesto area through this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
The agency issued a wind advisory to remain in effect until 1 p.m. today, and more than an inch of rain is supposed to fall in some areas through the early evening.
The agency also issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for Stanislaus, San Joaquin and Tuolumne counties.

Strong winds from 15 with 25 mph, with gusts into the 40s, remain in the area but are expected to die down later this afternoon.
