Waterford moves Saturday's tree lighting inside

WATERFORD -- Because of foul weather, the city of Waterford is moving Saturday's Christmas tree lighting event inside. It now will be at the Waterford Community Center, 540 C St.

A Las Posadas processional will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by Christmas caroling by Whitehead School’s sixth-grade GATE students at 6.

Music also will be provided by the Waterford High School band.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive at 6:30.

The event will include coffee, cocoa and cookies, too.

Children may bring a letter to Santa with their name and return address.
