-- We're getting a little break from the rain in the Northern San Joaquin Valley this morning, but forecasters predict more by this evening as the next in a series of storms moves into the area.

Rain and wind is expected to return after 4 p.m., and stick around through Sunday. The biggest gusts of the storm are anticipated Friday, with gusts of up to 44 mph.

It's a warm storm, a National Weather Service forecaster said, with highs in the 60s in the valley and the snow level at about 7,000 feet.

So far, .38 of an inch of rain has fallen on downtown Modesto, according to the Modesto Irrigation District.

Rainy conditions are expected to continue through the weekend, clearing up Monday, when forecasters predict the fog will return.
