-- An Empire man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after authorities in Livermore found him inside a stolen car on its roof with six injured people inside, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

Sunday night, California Highway Patrol officers responding to a medical emergency nearby came upon an overturned Honda Accord on Cayetano Court off North Livermore Avenue.

Inside, emergency crews found two men and four women, all suffering from minor to moderate injuries, none of which were life-threatening. Investigators discovered that the car had been reported stolen.

Because of injuries to his head and face that required the driver to be taken to the hospital, no field sobriety tests were immediately performed.

Officers later arrested 21-year-old Giovani Barocio of Empire on suspicion of vehicle theft and DUI.
