Sierra Music Scholarship auditions being held Feb. 2

Auditions for Sierra Music Scholarship will be held Feb. 2 at St. James Anglican Church in Sonora.

Scholarships are awarded in two age categories: 10-14 ($200) and 15-20 ($300) and are open to students of classical instrumental and vocal music involved in private study. Recipients must be from Calaveras and Tuolumne counties.

Scholarship recipients will perform as part of the March 10 concert featured on the St. James Concert Series.

The scholarship fund was established in 1998 and to date has awarded $12,000 to 46 students. Tax-deductible donations may be made to Sonora Area Foundation and marked for Sierra Scholarship Fund.
