Rain forecast to wash away valley fog

Foggy conditions at the beginning of the week are expected to give way to rain by Wednesday.

The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory for the Modesto area Monday morning. Fog was expected to crop up throughout the area in the night and morning through today.

Come midweek, though, forecasters are predicting major weather changes, with an initial storm system late tonight, followed by several more through the weekend.

Gusty wind is expected to accompany the rain, which forecasters believe will be heavy at times.

High temperatures in the Northern San Joaquin Valley will hit the 60s, with lows in the 40s.
