Regarding the Women of Hope article ("Women's rehab facility worries new neighbors in Modesto," Nov. 19, Page A-1): I wanted to put my two cents into the debate regarding their potential new home on Maze Boulevard.

I currently rent two Modesto homes to Nirvana drug and alcohol rehabilitation clients. One is a men's home near the MJC West campus and the other is a women's home off of Carpenter and Woodland.

I have never had one complaint about either house from any neighbors or property owners. If you drove by either home, you would think it is owner-occupied. The yards are 100 percent maintained by the clients, and at the yearly inspections, the interiors are clean and free of abuse. I wish I could say that about my other tenants.

I have worked with Dane Helding for over six years and he is a wonderful executive director at Nirvana. The Maze Boulevard neighbors have absolutely nothing to fear or worry that their homes losing value. Look at the other properties on Maze: a lot of them are owner-occupied and in deplorable shape. It's embarrassing because Maze-Highway 132 is a gateway into Modesto. Mark my words, Nirvana clients will keep that house well- maintained and the owner will get his rent on time, every month. My two owners love them as residents and have Nirvana on long-term leases.
