The buzz created by the heady wine of presidential elections has worn off. We, the electorate, are about to discover what we bought with our vote.

Those supporting the incumbent president may soon find themselves blaming the seduction of promises — stuff I need. Those Republican voters who didn't cast their ballot will regret their neglect. Now see what we've got.

There should be no surprise, but there will be shock since most of what is about to descend upon us has long been in the works. But too many people were not listening or decided they'd take a chance on their guy. It was much too late in the game for anyone to vote the party line against all prevailing evidence that the current administration was not willing or capable of leading this country onto a safer path than the one traveled the past four years.

Ever hear of the man who supplied himself the fuel in which his fat was fried? Smell the lard, baby; smell the lard. The dictionary describes lard as "the semisolid fat of a hog after rendering." We are now rendered.
