Regarding the employee cuts at Memorial Medical Center: Well, the worker bee gets squashed again. It seems when budget cuts come, it is always the ones in the trenches that get whacked, not the holy ones in their cushy leather towers.
Administrators should realize the reputation of a facility comes from those who clean, who monitor, who wipe the patient's brow, who assist the family when the loved one fails, who take care of the community needs not the administrator. Administration only reaps the benefits from the excellent workers. Are they going to fill in? Are they going to take up the mop and bedpan?
Oops, I forgot, they have meetings. If cuts are to be made, start at the heaviest end.
