Creeping Black 'Friday'

Black Friday, Thursday, Wednesday? There is an old axiom out there that says something to the effect of, "A person is smart but people are stupid." Left alone, even the least intelligent among us are able to make rational decisions that affect our health, finances and emotional well-being. Group us together and we become a gaggle of slack-jawed, mouth-breathing cretins.

I'm sure that there are all kinds of studies out there detailing how group psychology derails an otherwise rational person's thought process. I could look up those studies if I only had a brand new tablet computer. I hear those things were on sale Thursday. … "Honey, I need the pepper spray. I'm going out for a while."
