-- A man shot at the Oak Motel in south Modesto early Monday is expected to survive.

The 32-year-old Modesto man was shot multiple times at about 3 a.m. at the motel in the 1900 block of Crows Landing Road. He was flown to a Bay Area hospital, where he is in critical condition but expected to live, according to Stanislaus County sheriff's officials.

No one has been arrested, and witnesses continue to be uncooperative, said Sgt. Anthony Bejaran. Detectives arrested one witness on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs.

Bejaran said deputies have a history of responding to calls at the motel for issues including drug use and sales, prostitution, domestic violence, and trespassing.
