Modesto churches to collect blankets for Sandy victims

November 19, 2012

— A nondenominational committee called Blankets of Love, representing a group of Modesto churches, will collect blankets to ship to East Coast residents affected by Superstorm Sandy.

New blankets (in the original packaging) or gently used ones that have been washed and wrapped in clear plastic will be accepted.

Blankets will be collected from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1813 Oakdale Road, Modesto.

James Casey Moving & Storage of Ceres has agreed to transport them to the East Coast. For more, contact Bev at (209) 551-7622 or bevfern@sbcglobal.net or Jayne at (209) 526-5907 or jayne.cunningham@sbcglobal.net.
