I am writing to share my very positive opinion of a community asset, the Integrated Service Agency, a psycho-social rehabilitation program operated by Turning Point, Inc.

When I found myself recuperating from neuroleptic malignant syndrome, a six-week "blackout" and in ALS conservatorship, the case-manager/assistant conservators of Turning Point were most helpful to me and my family. For instance, my Modesto Turning Point rep visited with me at two-week intervals while I was in a psychiatric facility near Sacramento.

My peers there from other California counties only saw their "conservators" once every two or three months. Turning Point also offered me some appropriate part-time employment that helped ensure my gradual recovery.

Stanislaus County taxpayers are getting a good deal with this forward-thinking and cost-effective community resource.
