Steam engine to visit Sonora

SONORA -- Sierra Railroad steam locomotive No. 3 will visit Sonora on Dec. 1 as thanks for those who helped save Railtown 1897 State Historic Park from budget cuts.

The free event, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Washington Street and Hospital Road, will feature Santa, caroling and warm drinks.

The event is sponsored by the park, the Sonora Rotary and Kiwanis clubs, Sierra Northern Railway, the California State Railroad Museum Foundation, and J.S. West & Cos.
