On Nov. 6, Californians passed Proposition 30 to help our children in school. On Nov. 13 the Ceres Unified School District board conditionally approved giving teachers raises of 1.3 percent, retroactive to July 1. By looking at the Ceres agenda, I see that staff is asking for approval to look at the state budget in January to see if more raises are "sustainable."
If we find that more raises are not sustainable, should we look at additional tax increases to help our students?
