A rural Merced County home with processed marijuana was the target of a home invasion early Thursday, according to sheriff's Deputy Tom MacKenzie.

Two men described as Latino pulled up to the victim's home in the 2800 block of South Highway 59 in a green 1990s Toyota Celica just after 7 a.m.

The 36-year-old Caucasian female victim was outside when they asked if anyone else was home. After she answered "no," the men pulled out a handgun, MacKenzie said.

According to MacKenzie, the men ransacked the residence, asking the woman where the marijuana was. She told them "out back."

They went outside and found processed marijuana from about two dozen plants, MacKenzie said. They took it and some jewelry from the house. No one was injured.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff's office at (209) 385-7472.
