-- Haven Women's Center of Stanislaus is a catalyst for individual empowerment and societal change. Among many things, the Modesto-based Haven promotes safety and healing for women and children who have experienced domestic or sexual violence.

Address: 618 13th St., Modesto 95354

Phone number: (209) 524-4331

Web site: www.havenwcs.org

Services provided:

• One-on-one and group counseling.

• Legal services (restraining order assistance and court accompaniment).

• Education and outreach.

• 24-hour crisis line.

• Emergency shelter.

• Transitional housing.

• Youth programs.

• Case management.

How we serve those in need:

On average in the past six years, Haven has assisted 3,000 victims, survivors and children per year, agencywide. There is no typical client; domestic and sexual violence affects people across socio-economic strata, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation and gender. Haven services are offered at no cost to anyone who has been affected by partner violence.
