Self-righteous moralization

Anti-abortion ignorance and irrationality appears unending, this time offering us a false analogy and a linguistic foul to justify a self-righteous moralizer's insistence that he has the right to coerce others to do what he wants through legislation.

He conveniently ignores the facts: that Judeo-Christian scripture endorses slavery, a defense much favored by the mostly Christian slaveowners, and that the primary impulse behind the abolition of slavery was not Christian belief but adherence to the secular concept of human rights.

He then commits a blatant abuse of common language, using "little person" and "baby" to refer to a fetus, a standard anti-abortion tactic of employing loaded language to fog and confuse.

As to his specious question, "To whom does the baby's body belong," the answer is obvious: It is none of your business unless it is your baby.

People who claim a monopoly on moral judgment and the right to decide for others what is good for them are an offense to every autonomous, rational, free-thinking individual.
