TEMECULA -- Irvine Valley College's women's golf team captured its second state championship in three years as the Lasers posted a two-day team total of 628 to easily run away with the California Community College team title.
Modesto's Spencer Downey shot 88-87175, followed by teammate Jennifer Ketner at 93-93186 at the Temecula Creek Inn Resort. They were the only Pirates who qualified for the state meet.
Glendale College finished second with a score of 660 followed by Cañada College (673) and Delta College (689). Palomar's Taylor Crandall was the medalist at 78-70148.
